M2UA Satellite Settings
Applies to version(s): v2.9 and above
Connections through satellite produce unusual delays in a communication path.
To decrease the chance of a link going down because of delays, we can adjust timer settings for M2UA sigtran connection.
Default values
SCTP configuration modification
- Adv->Life time of MD5 keys = 5 seconds
M2UA configuration modification
- Timers->SCTP Poll Timer = 1 seconds
- Timers->AS Pending Timer = 1 seconds
- Timers->Congestion polling timer = 1 seconds
- Timers->Ack Timer = 1 seconds
M2UA SAP configuration modification
- SCTP Primitive Timer = 1 seconds
- SCTP SAP->Maximum ACK delay = 0.1 seconds
- SCTP SAP->Initial RTO = 1.5 seconds
- SCTP SAP->Minimum RTO = 100 milliseconds
- SCTP SAP->Maximum RTO = 2 seconds
- SCTP SAP->Freeze timer = 1.5 seconds
- SCTP SAP->Cookie life time = 30 seconds
- SCTP SAP->Delay between heartbeat = 1.5 seconds
To support 600ms to 1.5 seconds delay, we recommend these timer values for M2UA
