#REDIRECTMTP3
The MTP3 layer provides message routing between signaling points in an SS7 network. This layer routes traffic away from failed links and signaling points and controls traffic when congestion occurs. The MTP3 layer contains a Userpart that represents a specific protocol variant.

A conceptual illustration of the MTP3 layer is provided on the right.

TelcoBridges and MTP3
TelcoBridges supports the MTP3 layer in its SS7 signaling stack. It also provides the following functionality:
*Up to 64 OPCs per system
*Up to 64 linksets per system
*Point code sharing by multiple devices with external Toolpack control

Supported MTP3 variants
*ANSI (used for ANSI88 and ANSI92)
*ANSI96 (used for ANSI96 and Telcordia)
*ITU (used for ITU88, ITU92, ITU97, Q767, Singapore and ETSI)
*China, GF001-9001
