Time Division Multiplexing, or TDM, is means of a combining two or more signal/media sub-channels along a given communications channel. It is the dominant approach for transmitting non-IP voice communications in a wireline communications network and is used in mobile telephony networks for communications between handsets and base stations.

TelcoBridges and TDM

TelcoBridges supports TDM across its entire product line. All devices feature support for T1/E1/J1 interfaces, while some add support for DS3 and STM-1 interfaces as well via swappable TDM modules. The following table shows TDM options for the Tmedia and Tdev families of products:
