This page explains how to select the proper Toolpack installer for your TMG3200

It is important to select the correct Toolpack installer. TelcoBridges created a Toolpack installer for a each supported operating systems, it is the same thing with our TMG3200 and TMG800 products. The release of the TBLinux may change through time. Therefore it is important to install the right Toolpack installer. Here is a procedure as to know which installer your TMG3200 or TMG800 should use.

Get the TBLinux major release

 cat /etc/tblinux-release

example:

 TBLinux release 1 (Peanut)

For TBLinux release 1 only, get the kernel version

 uname -a

Example of a 2.6.28 TBLinux:

 Linux TB005375 2.6.28.10-12.tb1.ppc #1 Wed Jul 1 14:49:23 EDT 2009 ppc ppc ppc GNU/Linux

If the kernel is version 2.6.26 or lower, use the package:

 TBToolPack-2.3.7-Linux-tbrel-1-26-ppc-Install

If the kernel is version 2.6.28 or above, use the package:

 TBToolPack-2.3.7-Linux-tbrel-1-28-ppc-Install

Flashing a package for TBLinux release 1 and the kernel version 2.6.26

It is important that the board should NEVER be flashed. You can install a 2.4 firmware but NEVER flash a package. If you do so the TMG host will not boot and we will be required to re-install the TMG. If we need to flash a release we will install tblinux 2.6.28 at the same time.

Flashing a package for TBLinux release 1 and the kernel version 2.6.28

It is important that the board should NEVER be flashed to a version prior to 2.4. You can install a 2.3 firmware but NEVER flash a package. If you do so the TMG host will not boot (it is improbable that you succeed in doing this since we added checks in the boot manager to prevent this).
