The M3UA Traffic Mode Type parameter is used when activating a peer server. This field is inserted in the ASP Active (ASPAC) and ASP Inactive (ASPIA) messages.

For signaling gateway (SG), this parameter needs to correspond with the value received in ASPAC and ASPIA messages.

For application server (ASP) and IP signaling gateway (IPSP), the traffic mode type value from the local peer server and from the remote peer server are applied to the list of association.

4 Modes are available based on the configuration of a single routing context:

1- Local active standby - Remote load sharing
All PSPs need to be active on only one SAP. (all associations on one SAP are active)
2- Local active standby - Remote active standby
Only one PSP needs to be active on one SAP. (1 association is active)
3- Local load sharing - Remote load sharing
Every SAPs and PSPs need to be active. (all associations are active)
4- Local load sharing - Remote active standby
Only one PSP needs to be active for all SAPs. (all associations on one PSP are active)
