Parameter: SLS Mask

The SLS Mask parameter is used to set a value for signaling link selection coding in SS7 systems using the ANSI or TELCORDIA protocol variants. Values for this parameter are selected from a drop-down list. The SLS Mask parameter can take on the following values:

  • 5_BITS
  • 8_BITS

This field was initially 5 bits long, but was extended to 8 bits in ANSI96.
