Answer Seizure Ratio (ASR) provides the relationship between the number of seizures that result in an answer signal and the total number of seizures. This is a direct measure of the effectiveness of the service being offered and is usually expressed as a percentage as follows:

ASR = (Seizures resulting in answer signal) / (Total seizures) * 100

In the case of call routing, using the TelcoBridges' Media Gateway Application, ASR routing will match any route whose destination NAP has a higher ASR. This kind of routing will try to improve the overall system ASR by always using the best NAP.

The TelcoBridges' Media Gateway Application can decide to route on the best NAP according to the following time periods:

  • global
  • last_24h
  • current_hour
  • last_hour

The TelcoBridges' Media Gateway Application can also decide upon a minimum ASR under which the NAP will not be used anymore.
